Hi girls!

How about getting an acrylic on your toenails with the same set of your fingernails?
It is really important to get a good pedicure when you are getting married, especially if you are having a beach wedding, because probably you’ll end without shoes, so your feet will be uncovered, but they will look beautiful.

5 tips to select the groom’s suit

Although the bride’s dress is the one that captures all eyes, we don’t want to abandon the groom’s suit, here there are 5 tips you should consider:
  1. Look for the most appropriate suit for the wedding: the place and the hour of the day are keys to decide the most suitable one.
  2. If you’re having a beach wedding you can wear a guayabera and khaki pants, if you want to wear a suit, we recommend you to be with light colors.
  3. Consider your complexion; if you are tall and thin, most suits will favor you, if you are a little robust, we recommend you a tailored suit, that stylize your figure.
  4. Make sure it matches with your bride’s gown. You should consider marriage is the union of two people. And, it is true, the bride will keep the secret about the dress, but we can make the details match like the main color of the wedding, or the bouquet with the boutonniere.
  5. Nothing should prevent the groom moves naturally, so make sure every suit’s detail is perfect, the shoes, the neck and sleeves of the shirt.
  6. Don’t forget the complements, they will add a touch of your personality to your suit, something colorful, your tie, or anything for you to distinguish.

How many bouquets should I use for the wedding?

Hello my brides to be, we have been asked about how many bouquets should a bride use for the wedding, our suggestion is three.
Main bouquet; this must be the showiest and the ideal is it is made with natural flowers, it is the one you use for the ceremony and the photo shoot.
Bouquet for the Virgin; if you are catholic, this is the one you offer as grattitud for the new marriage and ask her for blessings for you and your husband.
Bouquet to winnow ; as the name explains it all, this is the one you winnow and the single lady who catches it is the next one who gets married.
Bodas Huatulco has a tradition of forming this bouquet with the ones of your bridesmaids and tie them up with a ribbon, and before throwing it, the ribbon is removed so all bouquets will fly off and more than one single woman will take a little bouquet, and the illusion of planning a wedding will be multiplied!
Note: this is what we recommend, however, the minimum should be 2 bouquets, the main bouquet and the Virgin's bouquet.
It is really awful that if you don’t have one for the Virgin, you offer the main bouquet instead and after someone goes to pick it up because you haven’t had your photo session. So, if you use two bouquets, you will winnow your main bouquet.

False eyelashes: In strip or one by one?

It is true, a lot of women need this big makeup tricks to look spectacular on our wedding, but what’s the perfect choice for not having inconvenient on a beach wedding?

If you already decided you are wearing false eyelashes and you are getting married on the beach, we recommend you one by one eyelashes, because the ones with strip may be detached by the heat. However, you should put them a day before because the liquid may irritate your eyes.

Lipstick for your wedding

Hi girls!

Even if you will have a professional makeup artist to make up you on your wedding day, it is important you are prepared with lipstick, because it is something that needs more careful because of the kisses, congratulations and above all, drinks and food, and if your makeup artist won’t be by your side, we recommend you to buy the tone of lipstick you have chosen in your test and have it in your kit, so you can be aware on that detail.

Remember the bride will always be the center of the attention, so you must look spectacular in every moment.

Tips to consider for your trash the dress

Trash the dress is trendy, if you have already decided you’re doing it, we want to give you some tips:

1. Professional hair and makeup: a lot of photographers tell you don’t have to do hair and makeup because it’s a casual shooting and you’re going to get wet, this is a total mistake, if you are paying a professional photographer, it is something you don’t do everyday and you will look so much better… besides, you will let the photographer do close-ups to your face.

2. Have an open communication with your photographer about the pictures you want and be honest with him… once we had a bride who wanted to have pictures under water but she didn’t know how to swim!! After a while of seeing the session was getting complicated we noticed she couldn’t swim and having a sub-aquatic session is complicated because the dress gets really heavy and entangles, so it is necessary to have control and hold the breath.

3. Ask your wedding coordinator to bring things you could use to get amazing photos, like the “&” symbol, a champagne bottle, an umbrella, flowers, or anything you want, use your imagination.

4. Remember to bring extra clothes to change after the session finishes.

How to hold my wedding bouquet?

I know, the question is pretty silly, it shouldn’t be a problem, however, when making the triumphal entrance to the church or to the ceremony, brides should be with their dads (or the person who is supposed to hand over her at the altar) by her right side, so the right hand holds the person and with her left hand she holds the bouquet so it looks.
In case you have a cascading bouquet you should keep it above your waist so it has a beautiful fall.

And if it is a bouquet you should hold it up to your waist.

What are the rehydrated flowers?

Some of our readers have asked about rehydrated flowers and we wish to answer some of their doubts on this post.

What are rehydrated flowers?
They are natural flowers that are dried out for three weeks with technology and after are rehydrated against humidity, ultraviolet light and insects. This way they will last for years.
Do they keep their natural appearance?
Yes, it is even hard to distinguish them from the natural ones, because they are smooth to the touch, they are not stiff.
Are they expensive?
It depends on the point of view, if you buy a natural bouquet that you would use only once, they are expensive, however, when compared with an artificial bouquet it isn’t expensive at all. Rates are between $2,500 and $5,000 pesos. (About 140- 280 US Dollars).

Spring Wedding!!

If you are thinking about getting married between March and June, you will have a Spring wedding.
First characteristic of this wedding is the place, for a spring wedding the best idea is planning an outdoor reception, quiet an in contact with nature, a good idea is a Beach wedding or in a garden.
Part of the decoration are also the colors you choose to capture since invitations, bride’s bouquet, bridesmaids dresses, flowers, and even the wedding theme. Ideal colors are lilac, pink, sky blue, orange, yellow and green.
The look of the bride should be based in a dress with thin fabric and transparencies. Long dresses look good on every season, but if you want something different, you could wear a short dress.
The groom can wear a suit made of light fabricsand play with the wedding colors on tie and boutonniere.

A veil is an ideal accessory for any bride

The truth is that it is hard to imagine a bride without a veil; it is an accessory that really accentuates a bride, especially if your ceremony will be religious.

Here is a list of some types of veils:

  1. Short or birdcage veil:  It's a classic. It only covers the face of the bride for entering the church and the ceremony.  After the bride kisses the groom, it is moved back away from her face and covers her hair.
  1. Shoulder and Elbow-length: As the name implies this style of veil extends to the shoulders or elbow, the length varies depending on the height of the bride.
  2. Chapel:  A very elegant veil choice that cascades from the head down to the floor.
  3. Waist-length:  This veil attaches to the head, usually behind the headdress and extends down to the back of the waist.
  4. Ballet-length:  This veil covers the head and opens slightly at the sides of the face, closing below the waist.
  5. Cathedral:  The longest of them all, this veil usually exceeds the length of the dress and train.

Zapotec Wedding

Want to have a beautiful mexican symbolic ceremony?
I will talk about a beautiful ritual we have in Oaxaca, a Zapotec wedding.
This ceremony involves a lot of people because it has many rituals before the ceremony itself begins.
They use prehispanic music, with drums and snails.
And it has a lot of significant elements, like the couple is united with a shawl.
Groom and bride share different meals.
Guests participate a lot.
We leave you a video, to check how beautiful it is:
If you want to get married with this beautiful and original ritual with the sea, the sun and the sand as witnesses, you can contact:

Irma Guadalupe Martínez Blas.

Or you can contact us and we will help you to organize it.
